On July 11th and 12th 2013, the Danish Ambassador visited the county governments of Nakuru and Narok to get a better understanding of the new devolved structures. The Ambassador shares his experiences: “I am encouraged by these new governance structures. They bring decision-making and accountability closer to the people. Each county has a lot of potential. It is now up to the county governments to realize this potential to the benefit of the people.  Denmark’s partnership with Kenya dates back to the independence. We are very supportive of the governance reforms in Kenya and look forward to collaborating with the new county structures for further progress in the country.”

The Ambassador met with the Governor and Ministers of Nakuru , the Speaker and the County Assembly members as well as the Chief Magistrate and Judges of Nakuru. In Narok, he met with the Governor and Ministers of Narok, the Speaker and selected members of the County Assembly.
