Professional Danish handball players visited Kenya

Several Danish handball players, among others Lasse Boesen and Lars Jeppesen, visited Kenya. They where in Kenya with the Danish organisation “Street Handball” with the purpose of gathering children and young people from the slum areas in Nairobi to play handball.
The aim was to bring youth together using sports while at the same time improve inter-ethnic dialogue, interaction and awareness on the election and constitutional rights among the youth.
The team also meet the Danish Ambassador since the programme is supported by the Embassy.  
The visit culminated with the gathering of 4-500 children from different slum areas in Nairobi playing street handball at Nyayo Stadium. This event ended with a handball match between Denmark and Kenya with the participation of Deputy Ole Thonke. The Danish team won the game.
