The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Claus Grube, to be ambassador in London

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Villy Søvndal states:

”For family- and career-related reasons, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Claus Grube, has expressed the wish to be appointed Denmark's new ambassador in London. In common with my ministerial colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I am very satisfied with Claus Grube's management of the ministry, but understand and respect his decision.

Claus Grube has been Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2009. During a period of extensive and demanding change, Claus Grube has overseen comprehensive modernisation and efficiency improvement of the ministry. As a result of these significant changes, Denmark today has an efficient and respected Foreign Service with capable and committed staff.”

The position of Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be advertised as a vacancy in the near future, with appointment to the post from 1 October 2013 or at the earliest date thereafter.
