24.01.2018  05:57

Earlier in January, a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC). Lead by Permanent Secretary Ulrik Vestergaard Knudsen and accompanied by Christian Grønbech-Jensen, Ambassador Mette Knudsen and Deputy Head of Mission Henrik Larsen, the team had an opportunity to engage Kenyan entrepreneurs who have developed various green growth innovations that address the challenges of climate change.

KCIC’s overall objective is to support the growth and development of innovative clean technology business models, technologies for commercial markets and access to financing of such solutions thus promoting Kenya’s green growth agenda. Between 2012 to 2020, KCIC will receive over 100 million DKK from Denmark. Thus far this support has enabled the incubation of 136 enterprises, the establishment of 80 new businesses, and the creation of more than 1,400 jobs directly and 5,000 jobs indirectly in Kenya.
