Re-entry permit

As a rule, you should obtain your re-entry permit before you leave Denmark. In special cases, you can apply for a re-entry permit at a Danish mission abroad i.e. if you have lost your re-entry permit during your stay outside Denmark.

To submit an application for a re-entry permit you need to apply in person at the local VFS office.  You can find more information on the nearest VFS Global office and the opening hours here

If you need to apply for a re-entry permit the Embassy recommends you to apply well in advance as the application must be sent to the Danish Immigration Service for approval. The average processing time is about 3 to 5 days from the Embassy receives the physical application.

The fee to be paid to the Embassy must be paid on-line through this link.   When you submit your application at VFS Global you must bring the receipt for payment of the Embassy fee together with the documents listed below.  Be aware that physical appearance is mandatory as the VFS Global office will take your biometrics.

Please be aware that you need to pay both fees i.e. Embassy fee and a service fee to VFS Global.

Documents to submit with your application are:
Duly completed application form which can be found here
Passport valid at least 3 months after the expected entry date to Denmark.
Flight ticket for the return to Denmark.
Receipt for payment of the Embassy fee (presently 1,700 DKK)
Service fee to VFS Global
Important: If the applicant is a minor, she/he needs to be present in person together with the guardian(s).

Further information about re-entry permits can be found at the website of the Danish Immigration Service.
