SSC Water
Denmark has been engaging with the Kenyan water sector since 2004 and has been supporting key successful reform processes and establishment of key institutions. SSC Water is a new avenue to continue this engagement.
The common objective of SSCs is to build mutual relationships between Kenyan and Danish stakeholders which can facilitate sharing of Danish expertise, models & resources.
The latest support facility: The Kenyan–Danish Strategic Water Sector Programme (SSC Water Kenya) was initiated in August 2023. The project is a G2G facility where the lead partners are the Kenya Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation (MoWSI), the Danish Environment Protection Agency (DEPA) and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The project includes other mandated bodies in the water governance chains.
The SSC facility is working with 3 objective complexes: Building and strengthening the Kenyan – Danish sector specific relations, supporting the Kenyan water sector development objectives, sector specific strategies through knowledge exchange and capacity building and last; improving Danish private sector marked access and share. The cooperation will be seen as a long-term relation, producing tangible results, and impact of mutual value.
